According to the in-game tooltip, an Overpowered attack deals extra damage equal to the sum of the player's current and Fortified Life. The chance for this occurring is 3%, and that number can't be increased through stats. Instead, certain skills can guarantee an Overpowered attack, such as the Barbarian's Combat Bash.

Base Vulnerable Damage is still 20% and still multiplicative, but the Vulnerable Damage affix is now only additive. Overpower Damage now only goes up to 50% multiplicative based on your current life percentage. However, Overpower Damage affixes are now only additive.

Whenever you increase your Maximum Life, you increase your Overpower Damage. Directly increases Overpower Damage. All Stats also gives Willpower, which then raises your Overpower Damage multiplier. Specfic for Druids, this increases Overpower Damage with Werebear related skills.

Naturally, this also means that Overpower is more important for Barbarians, Druids, and Necromancers than for any players using the Sorceress or Rogue.

Additional sources of bonus Critical Strike Damage, Vulnerable Damage, or Overpower Damage will be additive to your other damage bonuses. Simply said, Blizzard is changing the (previously described) multiplicative nature of Critical Strike Damage and Vulnerable Damage.

A 10% reduction in all damage is pretty good, but it's not amazing. Still, Fortify can be an incredible buff, and is used in many different builds, as you can enhance it to make it stronger. Putting sapphires in your armor, for example, can further reduce the amount of damage you take while Fortified.

Overpower is, essentially, another form of critical hit effect in Diablo 4.

Overpower is a mechanic in Diablo 4 that is hard to utilize but can be rewarding. It's a critical hit mechanic, one of three in the game, alongside Critical Strike and Lucky Hit. All three are mechanics that allow random chance to do some bonus damage.

So to accurately assess how much damage your Overpower attacks do, add the bottom [+]% of the tooltip to your calculation and convert your HP into [+]OPD%. Also, remember to multiply your damage with the [x]50% Overpower multiplier (presuming you are at max HP).

In Diablo 4, an attack has four possibilities: hit, Crit, Overpower, or Overpowering Crit. To increase your weapon damage, find weapons with a higher item power. You can also use the Blacksmith vendor to upgrade your items, improving their item power up to +25 over their base value. You can increase your skill damage through skill ranks.

Once you are Fortified, you take 10% less damage from all sources. As an example, let's say you have 2,700 Fortify built up on your health bar but have 4,200 health. When you take damage, you'll lose health normally until your health bar dips below 2,700. From that point on, all damage you take will be reduced by 10%.

Your Ultimate Skills deal 30% increased damage and grant you 10% increased damage for 20 seconds when cast.
