Diablo 4 Season of Blood Class Tier List (2024)

Following the controversial reception of Diablo 4's Season 1, Blizzard has reworked several of the game's classes to balance the game better and improve player experience for Season 2. As a result, the class meta in Diablo 4 has changed for the Season of Blood, with some classes shifting positions following the seasonal balance changes. While all classes can be viable with the right build, players looking to tackle some of Diablo 4's endgame challenges will want to know which classes offer the best chance of success in Diablo 4 Season 2.

As a live-service game, Diablo 4 will undergo consistent changes throughout its lifespan and the viability of each class will likely differ from season to season. Additionally, the introduction of a new class in the Vessel of Hatred expansion should shake up Diablo 4's class meta as well. However, for the current Season of Blood, a few classes stand out as the best options for seasonal characters, with others falling short of greatness.

S-Tier

Rogue

Diablo 4's Rogue continues to stand out as the best class for the Season of Blood thanks to its diverse arsenal of skills and play styles that make it perfect for tackling endgame content. Although many players were worried about how the changes to Vulnerable and Critical Damage would affect the power of the Rogue going into the Season of Blood, it seems like these changes had an overall negligible effect on the Rogue's utility in Diablo 4.

A-Tier

Necromancer

Necromancers received a huge buff going into Diablo 4's Season of Blood as the game changed the functionality of the Necromancer's minions to help increase their survivability through the Death's Defense passive as well as a blanket buff to the minion's damage output. As a result, Necromancers are excellent classes for leveling in the early game and can create some formidable endgame builds that fall just short of matching the Rogue's potential.

Druid

With how crucial leveling is in Diablo 4, Druids are held back from being truly great due to their slower-than-average leveling experience, which can make the early game a painful grind to get through. However, players who stick with the Druid class in the Season of Blood can create one of the most powerful endgame builds in the form of the Pulverizer Druid, as it can take advantage of many of the new Vampiric Powers introduced this season to great effect, such as Sanguine Brace and Domination.

B-Tier

Sorcerer

Although many of the Sorcerer's skills were rebalanced to give them more versatility and viable alternatives to Frost builds, Diablo 4's Sorcerer still falls short of greatness in the Season of Blood. The biggest challenge Sorcerers face is survivability in the early game, as the damage scaling on their most powerful skills doesn't reach its full potential until the late game. However, utilizing a Vampiric Power like Metamorphosis can help increase the Sorcerer's mobility in the early game and make up for some of the class's drawbacks.

C-Tier

Barbarian

Despite the Barbarian being one of the more powerful classes at Diablo 4's launch, the changes introduced in the Season of Blood saw the Barbarian slip into the realm of mediocrity, with its slow leveling hitting the class particularly hard. Previously, Whirlwind Barbarian builds were some of the strongest endgame builds in Diablo 4, but aside from this setup, the Barbarian had very few viable alternatives. Now that Gohr's Devastating Grips has had its Whirlwind Attack Speed affix replaced with Critical Strike Chance Against Close Enemies, this build is far less powerful, and the time it takes to level up a Barbarian for the endgame isn't worth the investment.
