Star Wars has been a part of our world for over 40+ years. The George Lucas-created franchise has transcended the interest of science fiction fans and is a true cultural phenomenon. It continues to grow, from the parents who watched A New Hope to the grandchildren who watch The Mandalorian.
Following the initial trilogy that focused on Luke Skywalker, the Star Wars franchise created prequels that looked into the history of Anakin Skywalker, the future Darth Vader. Years later, a new trilogy formed. Not only that, but TV shows became all the rage.
It started with the Clone Wars TV series. When Disney+ launched, it introduced us to Grogu via The Mandalorian. From there, Star Wars fans got spoiled with TV shows, from The Book of Boba Fett, Ob-Wan Kenobi, Andor, The Bad Batch, and Ahsoka.
At the moment, there hasn’t been a Star Wars show released in 2024. That all changes June 4, thanks to the debut of The Acolyte. Will that be all for Disney+ and Star Wars this year?

Disney's 2024 schedule features two Star Wars shows. The Acolyte airs on June 4. TheSkeleton Crew show is expected to be released in late 2024.
Earlier in 2024, Disney+ released six new episodes ofYoung Jedi Adventures along with season 3 of The Bad Batch. The animated series Tales of the Jedi is also expected to return for a second season sometime in 2024.
What isStar Wars The Acolyte?
Set 100 years beforeThe Phantom Menace, the eight-episode show will focus on The High Republic Era, when the Jedi were at the height of their power, and there was peace.
Nothing lasts forever, however, as dark forces return to the confusion and fear of many.
The show features Lee Jung-Jae of Squid Game fame, Carrie-Anne Moss of Matrix fame,Dafne Keen of Logan fame, andThe Hunger Games and The Gate U Give's Amandla Stenberg.

What is Star Wars Skeleton Crew?
The Skeleton Crew show is the opposite ofThe Acolytein that it takes place around the same time as The Mandalorian, after Return of the Jedi. Per Screen Rant, it is a coming-of-age story "following a group of kids who get lost in the galaxy following a discovery made on their home planet."
One of the main actors on the show will be Jude Law ofThe Talented Mr. Ripley,Cold Mountain, Sherlock Holmes,Fantastic Beasts, and Captain Marvelfame. His role is of a Force user, though his current name is unknown.
