Map border (3)

Map borders are a game mechanic in Bloons TD 6, introduced in version 2.0. By earning medals on a map, the border around the map's icon on the map selection menu and in Co-op lobbies changes. Map borders are purely visual and serve as an indication of progress, as well as bragging rights.

Types of map borders[]

By default, the border around the icons for each map is beige for solo play and light blue for Co-op.

Bronze border[]

A bronze border is awarded for earning the medals for all the easy difficulty modes. Introduced in version 38.0.

To get a bronze border for a given map, the following modes must be beaten on that map:

Silver border[]

A silver border is awarded for earning the medals for all the easy and medium difficulty modes. Introduced in version 38.0.

To get a silver border for a given map, the player must fulfill the requirements for the bronze border, and the following modes must be beaten on that map:

Gold border[]

A gold border is awarded for earning all the medals for a map except the black version of the CHIMPS medal. Introduced in version 2.0.

To get a gold border for a given map, the player must fulfill the requirements for the silver border, and the following modes must be beaten on that map:

Gold border can also apply to Insta-Monkeys as well, except it requires obtaining all possible crosspaths of a tower type up to Tier 4.

Black border[]

A black border is awarded for earning all the medals for a map, including the black "flawless" and "no saves" CHIMPS medal, and is considered the most prestigious type of map border. Introduced in version 2.0.

To get a black border for a given map, the player must fulfill the requirements for the gold border, and the following mode must be beaten on that map:

Black border can also apply to Insta-Monkeys as well, except it requires obtaining all possible crosspaths of a tower type up to Tier 5.
