What to Expect for Your Visit

The animals are treated with the comfort and respect that they deserve. We keep their environment as calm and stress free as possible which is why we are not a walk through facility. The adoption counselors will help you find the companion animals that match your situation and help you to meet as many as you would like to see!

The best possible veterinary care is always given to Animal House Shelter pets and treatment is never declined if it will give the animal a chance for a healthy life. Socializing and keeping our pets happy is also of utmost importance. Dogs are walked all throughout the day where they are introduced to new dogs & people. The cats are housed in a large, whimsical, free-roam habitat. All are given loving care and attention by staff and volunteers.

Healthy Pet, Ready For a Forever Home

When you get to Animal House, you can be sure that your next pet is ready for your home.

All dogs and cats are given all required vaccinations and boosters. They are neutered/spayed, and microchipped. Dogs are dewormed and heartworm tested, and cats are dewormed and FeLV/FIV tested. Dogs are kept on heartworm preventative & all animals receive flea and tick preventatives monthly by Animal House.

Find the Best Match

During your visit, an adoption counselor will assist you through the adoption process and introduce you to as many dogs and/or cats as you would like to meet, in order to make the best possible match for you, your family and your new pet.

Taking in Special Needs Animals

On average, AHS takes in at least one animal per week that suffers an ailment or needs surgery. We do not believe that any animal should be left to be euthanized because they are sick or injured.

We take care of any treatment our rescue animals need including, but not limited to: heart worm treatments, cruciate ligament repair, patella surgery, FHO, heart surgery, diabetes, anxiety disorders, auto immune deficiencies, liver shunts, etc. These treatments & surgeries are extremely expensive and we need the communities help.
