If you're planning to play Starfield for a long time, the first thing you'll have to learn is how to manage your resources. The game has a wide variety of Skills you can unlock, and each one of them provides a specific buff to your character. Although, the number of Skill Points you get is quite low.

You can only gain one point each time you level up, but there are over 80 Skills to level up in the game, with each Skill having four ranks. This makes it vital to choose your Skills wisely during the early game since they can decide the future of your account.
Best Early Game Physical Skills
Physical is the first tab you'll find as soon as you enter the screen, and some of the Skills you can unlock here are great for quality-of-life improvements. The game limits you quite a lot when it comes to sprinting or carrying items, and these abilities can help:

Best Early Game Combat Skills
The layout of the Combat tab is unique, and the Skills you'd want to upgrade here during the early game completely depend on your play style. You can attack an enemy using five different types of attacks in Starfield: Ballistics, Melee, Laser, Pistols, and Shotguns. The first five Skills in this tab belong to each of these damage types.
Depending on the weapons you like to use, these Skills can increase your overall damage. Keep in mind that you have to spend a certain number of Skill Points in the first row if you want to start unlocking the second-row Skills, so it's recommended to spend these points on the weapon type you enjoy.
Best Early Game Science Skills
The Skills you'll find on the first row of the Science tab can be a little lackluster for the early game. Most of these Skills allow you to travel longer distances, get higher resources, or reduce the resource cost for crafting. While these sound good, you don't have much use of them early on.
The Medicine Skill is the one that stands out since it increases the health you can get from Med Packs, Trauma Packs, and Emergency Kits. While in combat, you'll usually be up against a group of over ten enemies. This makes it almost impossible to not take damage, and this extra healing can help you recover from that damage.
Best Early Game Tech Skills
The last tab in the Skills section has quite a lot of helpful abilities for the early game players. These abilities can aid you in Space Battles, help you open different locks, and prevent fall damage:
