Portal, also known as House Portal, House portal or Housing tent is the entrance to a player's house, the main feature of the Construction skill. To use the portal, left-click on the portal and then choose one of the four presented options:

Enter your own house (only works if your house is in the same location as the portal)
Enter your own house in building mode (only works if your house is in the same location as the portal)
Go to another player's house (only works if their house is in the same location as the portal, they are on the same world, they are in their house, and they have private chat set so that you can message them)
Take no action

Travelling to house portals[edit | edit source]

The most basic way to get to a house is by walking to the portal that is in the location of the house. At level 40 Magic, players can use the House Teleport spell to teleport directly into the player's own house. Using a house teleport tablet is another option that only uses one inventory space and does not require a Magic level to use. In the house options screen, players can choose whether the house teleports land the player in the house itself or outside the portal. After completion of Love Story, players can use chipped house teleport tablets to teleport to any portal regardless of their house location.

House portal locations[edit | edit source]

Estate agents can move a player's house from its starter location in Rimmington to any of the other house portal locations identified by the portal icon on the map. These locations are Rimmington, Taverley, Pollnivneach, Rellekka, Brimhaven, Yanille, Prifddinas, and Menaphos. Each location requires a certain Construction level, and the estate agent charges a fee for each move. The details are shown in the table below.

Rellekka	30	10,000 (5,000)	Provides a fast teleport to Rellekka using House Teleport. However, an enchanted lyre is faster. Relatively close to rock crabs, a popular monster for training combat.
Brimhaven	40	15,000 (7,500)	Quite close to a lodestone. Allows quick access to Brimhaven Agility Arena course. Allows quick access to Shilo Village mine carts.
Yanille	50	25,000 (12,000)	4th closest POH portal to a bank, with a decent distance to a lodestone. Placement here provides best usage of Portal Chambers. Gilded altars are often hosted here on World 31.
Menaphos	50 (The Jack of Spades)	50,000 (25,000)	North-east of Portmaster Kags in the Port district of Menaphos (south-west corner) Easy access to Kags' ferry services to Pollnivneach, the Sunken Pyramid, Dominion Tower, Jaldraocht Pyramid, Nardah, Pollnivneach, and Crondis's pyramid,during and after the quest Crocodile Tears.

Location advantages and disadvantages[edit | edit source]

There are several advantages and disadvantages to each house portal location. Here is a complete evaluation of each portal location to help players decide which location is most useful. Note that houses can be moved at any time provided you have the correct Construction level and pay the estate agent.

Portmaster Kags offers transport to Pollnivneach, the Sunken Pyramid, Menaphos, Jalsavrah Pyramid, Exiled Kalphite Hive, Nardah, the Heart of Gielinor, Dominion Tower, and the Crondis pyramid during and after the quest Crocodile Tears. Convenient for the Port district soul obelisk, and scarabs, though less so.
