Overview[]

Escape Guide: New Kyrsa (F2)

New Kyrsa is a beautiful and huge place with many buildings and "alien-like" technology, such as trains or artillery. The architecture is futuristic, with gold and white designs and streamlined structures. You can meet a lot of Kyrsgardes here and only one, Naerotiv, is not hostile. Many buildings are extremely tall, and streets are patrolled by large, bulky Kyrsgardes. There is an underground sewage system, along with an underground subway in New Kyrsa.

Despite the beautiful outward appearance and the seemingly volatile enemies, New Kyrsa is stuck in a time loop. People stuck in the city are trapped in the time loop forever, unable to escape, or even die.

New Kyrsa contains numerous large, pink glowing chests. They contain 8-10 Kyrsan Medallions, which you can exchange for dyes, Enchantment Stones, Enchanted armors, Knowledge, or the Dawnwalker Oath. Defeating enemies can grant chests from the Second Layer loot pool.

In order to escape New Kyrsa, you must activate all 5 Obelisks and defeat Scion of Ethiron. Along with that, you have 45 minutes to activate all Obelisks. On the first and second 15 minute mark, you will be sent to the start with all Obelisks still activated. When the time is up, you die instantly. This timer is tracked by the Old Diver Watch you gain upon entering. After activating all the Obelisks, time will halt and you may freely explore the floor without dying.

This place is currently one of the most challenging places in-game, since you can meet numerous hostile Kyrsgardes that are extremely difficult to fight. The final enemy, Scion of Ethiron, is a very challenging boss fight, by far the biggest wall of clearing Second Floor.

If you die here, you will wipe, or if you still have the Light Hook you will be sent back to Castle Light.

Points of Interest[]

Grand Library of New Kyrsa[]

The Grand Library of New Kyrsa is a large library, containing a rotation puzzle and many hostile Kyrsgardes within it. If someone fails the rotation puzzle, everyone in the instance will be teleported back to the start of the library, no matter where they are. The code to the puzzle is as such:

" 1 - 2 - 1 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 1 - 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 "

The Sunken Railways[]

An underground railway system beneath the alien structures. At least 2 Medallion chests can spawn here, and contains one of the five obelisks needed to summon the Scion of Ethiron. If the obelisk is activated, Kyrsgarde Crawlers will appear and attack the player as they escape the train station.

Scion of Ethiron[]

The Scion of Ethiron is a boss encountered within the Second Floor of the Eternal Gale. It is an exceedingly large, imposing figure made of bones and other materials. The Scion is powerful in every aspect; it boasts a massive amount of HP, possesses large amounts of damage with most attacks, and requires a lengthy process to even land a hit on. More information on the fight is on the main page.

Misérables[]

Misérables is an NPC found in the outskirts of New Kyrsa. He is an enigmatic figure capable of granting you either a 30% damage boost against Scion of Ethiron for 5 Kyrsan Medallions, or resetting your wish cooldown for Yun'Shul for 15 Knowledge.

Kyrsgarde Lancer

Kyrsgarde Brute

Lore[]

The Second Floor is the deepest point of the Eternal Gale. In here, you can find New Kyrsa, the Sleeping City, an ancient city built by the Kyrsgarde race to contain the Scion of Ethiron. The Kyrsgarde race is different from human race. The Kyrsgarde are intelligent creatures, able to talk and consciously think, same as the human race. They built New Kyrsa as a "shrine" and "bed chamber" to the Scion of Ethiron. A long time ago, the Kyrsgarde experimented with the Avatar (Scion of Ethiron), but they didn't know where it would lead. It made Ethiron draw even closer, and then a wave of "mist" engulfed the city. The "Mist" is actually hypnotic, created by Ethiron to protect his Avatar. When Ethiron drew even closer to New Kyrsa, he created this mist to get control over every living creature within its scope, and now any creature who got affected by the mist obey Ethiron and lose their mind. The Kyrsgarde inside New Kyrsa and some of the Black Divers here are affected by it. Naerotiv and the Kyrsgarde in Firfire were too far from the mist, so they didn't get affected by the mist's presence. Naerotiv tells you about New Kyrsa, how they tried to complete "the Ninth Blessing", and if we won't stop the Scion of Ethiron from awakening, Ethiron, the Eye of Calamity will wake up and the world will die. The Scion of Ethiron, or Avatar acts as a shrine. If one of the Avatars wake up, Ethiron will wake up too. Naerotiv tells us that we should complete this ritual and seal the Avatar. New Kyrsa has an artifact with unstable song in it, the big purple sphere. When all 5 obelisks are activated, the artifact releases unstable Song and primary collapses stop. The reason why collapses even exist is that Ethiron causes them by his presence being near to New Kyrsa. When we defeat one of his Avatars, he releases compressed unstable gale (pure Song) from his body. The Second Layer becomes too charged with the Song, and it destabilizes. Another Space-time collapse happens. After this collapse, the whole Second Layer resets.

Trivia[]

  • The music for this area is Kyrie by Naktigonis
  • New Kyrsa exists in infinite amount of realities at the same time, and every human stuck here is doomed to stay here forever and suffer from Space-time collapse.
  • Kyrsgarde in New Kyrsa are affected by some sort of hypnosis. Their minds are under hypnosis from Ethiron, the Eye of Calamity, and they're here to protect Scion of Ethiron and let him grow. Naerotiv and Kyrsgarde in Firfire aren't affected by this hypnosis for some reason, and we can discover from Naerotiv that we must "seal" (kill) Scion of Ethiron or the world will be under a large threat.
    • Ironically, this won't happen, because New Kyrsa is stuck in a time cycle, where Scion of Ethiron can't grow enough to create this threat.
    • The 45 minute time limit is in place because New Kyrsa suffers under time dilation. It's also called Space-time collapse.
    • It seems like you can find some people who have lost their minds and gone insane from infinite amount of time resets.
  • Some of Black Divers in New Kyrsa are affected by this "Ethiron's hypnosis", actually named "Mist Presence". Some of them are located near one of five Obelisks. They all wield Markor's Inheritor.
  • Contrary to popular belief, New Kyrsa didn't sink into the Depths. It was actually made inside the Depths by Kyrsgarde. New Kyrsa does not match human standards at all, not to mention the fact that Kaide and Naerotiv talks about it. Firfire also has the same technology and the fact entering Firfire makes you quote "seem familiar but very alien". New Kyrsa was made as shrine and bedchamber to Scion of Ethiron.
  • You do not have to escape Second Floor via defeating the Scion of Ethiron in order to keep your quest progress. Talking to Carrion will still make him appear in Castle Light even if you Lighthook up or die within Lighthook's time frame. (Confirmed)
  • The Kyrsgarde Artillery on the outskirts of the city can be avoided by standing under cover. The spears do not go through objects.
  • The Kyrsgarde Artillery may be a reference to the chase scene with Undyne in the game Undertale. the road to Caria Manor, Liurnia from Elden Ring.
  • New Kyrsa may be a reference to Amaurot from the game Final Fantasy XIV, with both having similar concept and design and Ethrion can be anagram of Therion, the final boss of Amaurot.
