What’s going on guys! My name is Theoatrix, and today I am bringing to you guys an article where I go through some of the skills which are the most profitable, and I work out which skill is going to make you the most profit getting from level 1 – 99. So, there are lots of profitable skills is Old School Runescape, such as Mining, Fishing, Runecrafting, Fletching, Woodcutting, Farming for Herb runs, Hunter, Smithing, etc. There are so many. But, there are only a few which are really, really worth doing solely for profits. Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
Smithing – Cannonballs
So, there are lots of skills that are very profitable, but not really that practical to do just for profit. So, Smithing is an example of one of these. The most profitable method from Smithing from 1 – 99 is making Cannonballs. All the way to level 99, you will make around 2 200 000 Cannonballs, which is going to make you about 130 000 000, accounting for the cost of Steel Bars. But, the XP rate is only 20 000 – 30 000 XP per hour, which makes it so impractical to get form 1 – 99 doing this.
Hunter – Black Chinchompas
Now, Hunter is a more practical 99 to get for profit, and will make you about 110 000 000 getting to 99 from level 73 with Black Chinchompas. You are going to need to catch about 38 000 Black Chinchompas from level 73 – 99. But, this is kind of risky doing this method, since they are in the Wilderness. The XP rates are much faster than Smithing Cannonballs though, for example.
Fishing – Anglerfish
Now, Fishing Anglerfish is another super profitable and safe way to make money in Old School Runescape, and getting to 99 will make you over 140 000 000, 143 000 000 to be exact. But, the XP rates are almost as slow as Cannonballs, getting you up to and over 30 000 XP per hour.
Woodcutting – Magic Logs
Woodcutting is alright money, making you about 40 000 000 to 99 cutting Magic Logs, which are the most profitable.
Runecrafting – Cosmic Runes / Astral Runes / Nature Runes
But, these skills that I have listed are nothing in comparison to Runecrafting. Runecrafting has to be the best profitable skill in Old School Runescape, making you well over 400 000 000 getting to level 99.
The 3 most profitable Runes to craft are Cosmic Runes, Astral Runes, and Nature Runes, since you can craft double runes for these at certain levels. With Cosmic Runes, you can start crafting double runes at level 59. Astral Runes start being double at level 82, and Natures double at level 91. Nature Runes are the most profitable method in game.
Getting to 99 crafting Cosmic Runes will get you around 450 000 000. But, this is not really recommended, since the Altar is pretty far, and the XP rates are really slow just for Cosmic Runes. Getting to 99, you will make 3 000 000 Cosmic Runes, and that is absolute bank. But, it is really nothing compared to the next 2 methods.
Getting to 99 with Astral Runes will get you 50 000 000 crafting single Astral Runes from level 40 – 82, which is awesome in itself. But then, from level 82 – 99, you can craft double Astral Runes, and you will make 430 000 000 or 2 400 000 Astral Runes to level 99. So, altogether, you make almost 500 000 000 getting to 99 Runecrafting making Astral Runes.
Getting 99 with Nature Runes on the other hand, will make you absolute bank. From levels 44 – 91, in the levels that you can craft single Nature Runes, you will make 160 000 000. Then, from level 91 – 99, you will make an additional 382 000 000, making it the most profitable method or Runecrafting, and quite possibly the most profitable method in game for a skill based method. Altogether, you are going to make yourself 540 000 000 getting from level 44 – 99 crafting Nature Runes.
Look, I know that Slayer and other Combat Skills may be more profitable, depending on what Bosses you kill and what monsters you kill in Slayer.
But, for the most reliable source of income in the game, it would have to be Runecrafting, where Nature Runes can get you up to about 2 000 000 per hour while Astral Runes are anywhere between 1 000 000 – 1 500 000 an hour.
