FLORENCE, Ala. (WAFF) - Florence Police say 39-year-old Joshua Cottrell is in jail after a multi-city police chase Tuesday morning.

Police say they initiated the chase after the man did not pull over in Florence. The chase continued into Muscle Shoals before he crossed the bridge and darted into Sheffield. He finally stopped at 26th Street and Jackson Highway.

He was stopped and arrested on Jackson Highway, not far from Muscle Shoals Sound Studio.

They say the man ran into a building, leading authorities to set up a perimeter. He later came out and was arrested.

Cottrell is now in the Lauderdale County Jail.
