The Pure Mini (formerly called Pure Western Mini) is a passive system for steel string guitar, with three pickup heads and an endpin jack. It is a transducer system only and does not include a battery or on-board electronics. Don't be fooled by the sound of some competitors' "thin sounding" passive systems--the Pure Systems are definitely different. They sound full and rich and have sufficient output to drive most amps and PA systems directly!

Installing the Pure Mini is easy with the supplied installation jig.

We recommend the Pure Mini pickups for all acoustic guitars as a first choice. Direct installation with superglue gel is required for optimum performance but the system is still removable without damaging the guitar (you may damage the pickup though).

This pickup system will fit ANY steel string acoustic guitar! It features super balanced, flat sound transmission, warm woody tone without any quack and superior dynamic range all over the guitar's frequency spectrum. This pickup won the silver medal in the 2006 worldwide readers' poll of Acoustic Guitar Magazine. Our customers tell us that the Pure Mini's output is louder than any other passive pickup on the market.

I just had this pickup installed in my Martin D16GT and I am running it through an LR Baggs Venue DI which I also got from L&M. The sound is amazing! I am simply thrilled - Don't know why it took so long for me to discover it. I tried several other pickups including the LR Baggs Element and Lyric but there is just no comparison. The K&K brings out the natural sound of the guitar. I highly recommend it.

If you’re not looking for volume or eq controls, this is the best thing out there. No batteries needed, sounds terrific and super easy to install.

I was introduced to the K&K Pure Mini pickup a few years ago by a luthier who was building a guitar for me. I had not heard of this brand of pickups before that, only the more common 'big name' brands that often come pre-installed, and all of which have active amplification (e.g. need a battery). Since then, I have outfitted 4 guitars with this pickup, always installed by a luthier. The amplified sound is very natural, dare I say, it sounds mic'd, but without the feedback and hassle. The only 'feature' that really counts IMHO is the sound quality, which makes this my first choice. Our band is regularly complemented on sound quality. I have never had a problem with low output due to the passive nature of the pickup. It is nice not to have to worry about battery replacement.

I had the K&K Pure Mini system installed in my Larrivee D02 about a week ago, and couldn't be happier. They are easily the purest acoustic-sounding transducer system I know of. The genius is in having 3 small transducers (instead of just one) which gives a more balanced sound across the soundboard, instead of from just one spot. The sound is very natural, with all of the ambience of the guitar on its own ... yet amplified. They also have an amazingly high level of output signal for a passive system. I don't like the encumbrance of batteries, so this is ideal. The lack of a volume control is the one feature lacking, so a Volume Pedal is certainly a recommended item. Excellent product!

Been using this for a year or so now, and have no complaints (on a 000 martin). Super balanced, 100% clear bridge-plate transducer. I tested a few different p/u's for my acoustic and this one stood out for sure. I graded it 4 on features because it literally has none, but for some (like myself) that's a good thing. It connects via end-pin jack, has no volume or tone control though. I don't think you'd find anything better for $100 or less. Definitely going to buy another one for my other acoustic. I guess the best thing I could say about it is that it truly reflects the sound of my guitar exactly. Buy it.
