If you're planning on sightseeing and doing a little bit of light hiking you need one full day. One serious hike can take anywhere from 2-3 hours in addition to the 4-5 hours of sightseeing.

It's difficult to see Delicate Arch from the main park road; you must get out of the car to view it. At Lower Delicate Arch Viewpoint, you can walk a level 100 yards (91 m) to see the arch from one mile away. You can spend a couple hours or the better part of a day driving the 36 mile (round trip) road through Arches National Park.
