"This is a simple guide that explains how to be "reward eligible" for as many Forestry events as possible. It recommends a few good options for spots to either camp out and chop just in one place, or try out applying the strategies detailed here, on the main Forestry world - W444. If you need any additional help after reading this, check out the "Forestry CC" Friends Chat ingame, or the ForestryCC discord. Additionally, check out the Calls Guide page for more information about how to call out events, location names, and Forestry in general!"

Eligibility Logic for Multispotting[edit | edit source]

As of February 14th, 2024, a player must be deemed "eligible" to receive anima bark, full experience, and a chance at unique Forestry rewards. Entlings, however, will still give a God Egg Nest upon event completion even if the player is ineligible.

When you chop for at least 4 game ticks (perform a skilling roll) on a tree and then stop chopping it, an invisible three minute timer begins. The game will track timers like this for your last two trees- so chopping a third tree will replace your first tree. If an event spawns from a tree within a 20x20 tile box range of either of your two trees that actively have the three minute timer going- you will be eligible for full rewards (anima bark/xp/forestry uniques) as long as you interact with it before the timer expires, and you don't chop on any tree after the event spawns until you have interacted with the event.

This logic can be applied anywhere. That could mean picking one large spot where you run back and forth between two particular trees to spread your eligibility in a wider area, or teleporting back and forth between two trees in completely separate areas altogether just upkeeping their individual timers.

Additional Details (FAQ info)[edit | edit source]

If you don't wish to make use of a multispot method or are simply looking for a more "AFK but still decent" option, your best bet is camping out at any one of the populated chopping locations showcased below, with higher tier trees being slightly more consistent for event rates. Multispotting at its core is a "more effort, more reward" strategy. Figuring out your own enjoyable balance between using these methods and dropping back to a more chill experience camping one spot whenever you're not feeling the additional effort is recommended.

The "best spot" for you will vary depending on what tree types and teleports your account can access. Tested rates even during offpeak play hours can easily reach 2500-3000+ anima bark per hour (in some test cases closer to 4000 was achieved) when multispotting, as compared to a rough average of closer to 1000 in most single spots (possibly less if the spot goes dry for a while), so it can be highly worthwhile.

Being able to do multispot also means calls for all events are still highly useful, so please call out any events that you see! Even if you're not seeing them in the FC itself (especially during offpeak play hours of the day), there are still many callouts available to be seen via Discord. Check out the "Helpful Plugins" section of the guide about the "Event Scouting plugin" for more detail!

Strategies[edit | edit source]

The following are some suggestions for easy to use spots that will produce good results and how to use them.

Note: "Chopping a log" to register your chop on lower tier trees (ex: Oak) is just a simple method to ensure you have chopped long enough to "perform a skilling roll." Receiving a log is not actually required.

No teleporting or timing- North/South Seers Village[edit | edit source]

This spot puts you in range of just about any event you will see spawn within the Seers area.

Chop one highlighted Maple tree until it falls down. Run to the other and chop until it falls down. When you approach each tree, look for any events in the area before you start chopping- if you chop the tree again when there was already an event spawned, it will make you ineligible, so go interact with the event first! When the event ends, chop on the highlighted maple closest to you for a few seconds and then go chop the other one until it falls down. This restarts your cycle of simply going back and forth between the two trees.

  • There is plenty of time to bank logs in-between trees, as needed. No need to track timers with this method, as the Maple trees will fall down fast enough to make the three minute timers a non-issue. If other people are chopping these particular Maple trees and it is already felled when you get to it, don't worry- there is enough extra time built into the method that you can simply wait for it to respawn without issue.

No Teleporting - North/South Sorcerer's Tower[edit | edit source]

If there are people chopping at the southern Magic trees, the event rates at this spot are very good- with multiple options for ways to make use of it.

Option one - AFK at the highlighted Oak tree: Go to the highlighted Oak tree and simply chop a single log roughly every two minutes (for timer safety), and you will be eligible for all the events at both the northern and southern Magic tree spots. Upon completion of an event from either any of the magic tree spots (or rarely, the Oak tree in the middle itself), return to the Oak and restart the cycle by chopping another single log.

Option two - Mostly chopping Magic trees: Register a chop on the highlighted Oak tree and then go chop on a single Magic tree. Return to the Oak to register a new chop roughly every two minutes (for timer safety), or between each Magic tree (never touch two Magic trees in a row- always alternate with the Oak). Upon completion of an event, register a new chop on the Oak tree and then return to chopping a single Magic tree.

Teleporting - Pick any two of the pictured tree locations[edit | edit source]

All combinations will provide good event rates. Apply the eligibility logic to whichever two spots are most convenient for your account/needs, or choose your own different locations if somewhere specific is highly beneficial to you! Best teleports are listed in image descriptions.

Helpful Plugins[edit | edit source]

  1. "Event Scouting" plugin. This plugin assists with the crowdsourcing of Forestry event calls. Ensure that the Forestry events checkbox is checked to allow events in your area to populate in the Log Hunters discord channel. Within the Log Hunters discord, scroll to the Event Scouting tab on the left and click on the #forestry-scout-calls chat. This will show the most current event in World 444. There is a channel within the ForestryCC discord that details where to see the events called out to the plugin. The more people who have this plugin, the more useful it becomes!
  2. "Woodcutting" plugin (default on RuneLite). Has settings to enable notifications and highlights for Forestry events, which are useful for knowing when events spawn around you and knowing what to do during the events themselves.
  3. "Forestry CC" plugin." Enables some customizable on-screen notifications about event calls.
  4. "Tree Count" plugin. Useful for knowing how many people are already chopping one tree. Under the new event spawn rate guidelines, there is no additional benefit to having more than 10 people on a single tree.
  5. "Tree Despawn Timer" plugin. It can seem a bit inaccurate at times, but can be beneficial for knowing which magic trees will likely still have a good amount of life left.
  6. "In Game Timer" plugin. Useful when using the teleporting two spots method. Recommended to set the timer for 3 minutes, and head to your other location when roughly 1 minute remains on the timer, leaving time to register your interaction with any event present before timer expiration. Shift right-click on the timer itself, to interact with it.
    • For another timer option, the default RuneLite "Time Tracking" plugin (Setup left-side images below) lets you create custom length auto-repeating timers with pings/chat messages (Setup right-side images below) on completion.
  7. "Menu Entry Swapper" plugin. Go to NPC Swaps and ensure that the Customizable left and shift click option is selected. This will make trimming Entlings faster by skipping the trim menu and ensure maximum chances of finding a God Egg Nest (as each fully trimmed Entling gives eligible players in the event 20% of spawning a God Egg Nest). To see the Swap left click and Swap shift click options for the Entling NPCs, simply press and hold the shift key whilst right clicking on the Entling.
    • It is recommended to set the default left click to Prune Top and set the default shift click to Prune Back (or vice versa). This is due to the prune options with the Entlings; setting both these as such lessens the need to right click on the Entling and (possibly mis)click the prune option.
