For the second year in succession, Roman Reigns will close out two full calendar years as a reigning World Champion which is a phenomenal achievement. The Tribal Chief continues to make history with his record-breaking Universal Championship reign, and he added the WWE Championship to his collection at WrestleMania 38 when he became the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

The Head of the Table still had a pivotal role to play in WWE's success in 2022, and whilst he only wrestled 11 televised matches this year, which is considerably less than in 2021, he was involved in some high-quality matches.
11 Roman Reigns Vs. Goldberg - Elimination Chamber
Roman Reigns and Goldberg's Universal Championship match was the curtain-raiser at Elimination Chamber. Their bout was supposed to happen two years ago at WrestleMania 36, but the COVID-19 pandemic had other ideas with Reigns ruled out.
This was never going to be a technical masterclass and it was a typical Goldberg match, where he connected with a spear. Goldberg attempted the Jackhammer but Reigns countered it with the Guillotine Choke, and he successfully retained the Universal Championship as Goldberg faded.
10 The Bloodline Vs. Matt Riddle & The Street Profits - Raw (July 25)
The go-home episode of Raw before SummerSlam featured The Bloodline colliding with Matt Riddle and The Street Profits in a six-man tag team. The Usos controlled the early stages of the match, but things got interesting once Reigns became the legal man.
The Bloodline isolated Montez Ford in their side of the ring, and Ford was busted wide open after his head clattered into the steel of the turnbuckle. Nonetheless, Riddle attempted the RKO but Reigns blocked it, and he secured the win for The Bloodline with a devastating Spear.
9 Roman Reigns Vs. Brock Lesnar - WrestleMania 38
Roman Reigns' Universal Championship and Brock Lesnar's WWE Championship were at stake in the main event of WrestleMania 38 with the winner being crowned as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. This was a hard-hitting match between the pair, but it was bitterly disappointing.
The Tribal Chief speared Lesnar through the barricade in a bid to halt Lesnar's dominance. In the closing stages, Reigns hit Lesnar with his Universal Championship, and he put Lesnar out of his misery with a Spear to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
8 Roman Reigns & Sami Zayn Vs. John Cena & Kevin Owens - SmackDown (December 30)
Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn represented The Bloodline in their final match of the year on SmackDown. They clashed with a returning John Cena and Kevin Owens in a tag team match. Fans chanted "We Want Cena", and Reigns prevented Cena from tagging in KO, which allowed Zayn to hit Cena with the Helluva Kick.

The Tribal Chief attempted to spear Owens but he crashed and burned into the ring post. The crowd went berserk when Owens managed to tag in Cena. It was a decent match with Cena executing the AA on Reigns, and KO finished off Zayn with the Stunner to secure the victory.
7 Roman Reigns Vs. Seth Rollins - Royal Rumble
Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins slugged it out over the Universal Championship in the curtain-raiser at the Royal Rumble. Whilst, Reigns was waiting in the ring, Rollins played mind games by coming out to their old Shield theme song, and Rollins wore his trademark Shield gear.
This was a superb wrestling match, and he put Reigns through the broadcast table with a powerbomb. Reigns got some offense, and he attempted the Spear but Rollins countered it with a Pedigree. Ultimately, Reigns retained the Universal Championship despite losing by disqualification as he refused to release the Guillotine Choke.
6 The Bloodline Vs. Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre, And The Brawling Brutes - Survivor Series WarGames
The Bloodline led by the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns clashed with Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre, and the Brawling Brutes in a War Games at Survivor Series WarGames. The Bloodline had a slight disadvantage with Owens' team getting all of their team members in first.
This was a brutal match with both teams slugging it out back and forth. However, in the closing stages, Sami Zayn showed that he was loyal to the Bloodline by attacking Kevin Owens. Jey Uso executed the Uso Splash on Owens with The Bloodline triumphant.
5 Roman Reigns Vs. Matt Riddle - SmackDown (June 17)
For the first time since becoming the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns was in action. The Head of the Table defended his title against Matt Riddle. There was a caveat as Riddle would not get another title shot as long as Reigns was still the champion.

Riddle pushed Reigns to his limit in an entertaining championship match. Riddle connected with the Floating Bro a couple of times. There were several counters, and Riddle countered the spear with an RKO. The fans were firmly behind Riddle, but Reigns hit Riddle with a spear in mid-air to continue his run as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
4 The Bloodline Vs. Drew McIntyre & RK-Bro - WrestleMania Backlash
The Bloodline was pitted with Drew McIntyre and RK-Bro in a six-man tag team match at WrestleMania Backlash. Both teams performed exceptionally well in a high-caliber match. The Tribal Chief dominated Riddle with ease when he got involved in the match.
Reigns posed with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship during the match, and McIntyre took him down with the Claymore Kick. Fans acknowledge both teams' efforts and chanted "This is Awesome." Reigns had the final word on proceedings as he connected with a spear on Riddle to secure the win for The Bloodline.
3 Roman Reigns Vs. Logan Paul - Crown Jewel
Roman Reigns and Logan Paul engaged in battle over the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel. Reigns was the overwhelming favorite, but Paul rose to the occasion in just his third WWE match which he deserves a lot of credit for performing at a remarkably high level.
Paul took the fight to Reigns and he had the Tribal Chief on the ropes as he connected with a lucky punch and a superman punch. Reigns recovered after he was put through the broadcast table by Paul. Nevertheless, The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Jake Paul got involved in the bout. Reigns saw an opening as he hit Paul with a superman punch and a spear to retain his title in a hard-fought battle.
2 Roman Reigns Vs. Drew McIntyre - Clash At The Castle
Drew McIntyre had the weight of the world on his shoulders as he challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Clash at the Castle. The British crowd was firmly behind McIntyre with the match emanating in Cardiff, Wales.
The atmosphere was electric throughout, and both men had their working boots on. Austin Theory attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase but Tyson Fury who was in attendance stopped him in his tracks. McIntyre executed the Claymore and he was close to winning the match, but Reigns' cousin Solo Sikoa made his main roster debut. Reigns executed the Spear, and he retained the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
1 Roman Reigns Vs. Brock Lesnar - SummerSlam
Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar's Last Man Standing match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam was outstanding. Lesnar brought a tractor down the aisle, and he dominated the early stages of the match. Reigns saw an opening, and he put Lesnar through a table with a Samoan Drop.
The ring became unusable when the Beast Incarnate got onto his tractor and hoisted the ring off the ground. Austin Theory attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase but he failed. Ultimately, The Usos interfered to help Reigns, and they buried Lesnar with part of the broadcast table, steel steps, and a chair among other items with Reigns remaining as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
